This southwestern Missouri town will become a giant truck stop in August as Magic Mirror Productions presents the inaugural The American Truckers Festival, a three-day event to be held as a celebration to honor professional truck drivers and the industry that supports the drivers.

The festival is scheduled for Aug. 13-15 at the Branson Events Center.

“As the event's motto states, ‘If You've Got It, a TRUCK Brought It,’” said event organizer Kathy Hicks, CEO of Magic Mirror Productions. “Every item found on the shelves of your favorite store, unless it was made locally, was brought by a truck from its manufacturer.

Hicks said the organizers of the festival believe it's time that America expresses its appreciation for all that these “heroes of the highways.”

The celebration is a family event and a great opportunity for everyone to learn more about big rigs, stated its organizers.

“We want everyone to come out and make friends with some truckers and learn more about them,” Hicks said.

She said live entertainment will be available outside daily, and other special shows will be held inside the Branson Events Center and will feature some music industry legends plus many regular Branson shows and entertainers.

Performance headliners and schedules and inside show ticket prices will be announced soon.

Truckers can also find seminars, displays and free samples of products and services that would be of value to make their daily tasks easier and or more enjoyable. There will be trucking industry-related companies present to discuss what services they can offer, and drivers can find all the latest gizmos and gadgets, Hicks said.

Two of the seminars will be on retirement planning and financial advice.

The Branson Events Center (previously Tri-Lakes Center, Mel Tillis Theatre) is located at 2527 State Highway 248 in Branson.

Event gates will be open to the public at 9 a.m. Admission is free to those who pre-register, but will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children if purchased at the gate.
