Yes, the Bobcat system is great. I have been involved with the purchase and set up of several with the new computerized controls. But it is undoubtedly very expensive.
There are many things you can do to a vehicle to make it theft proof yet not cost much money. Some that quickly come to mind are:
-a switch to ground out your pick-up coil, or cam/crank sensor so no signal is sent.
-a switch to disable your electric fuel pump.
-a night switch that turns everything off until engaged by a relay.
-If you wanted to, you could install a numeric pad for a door locking system, like they install on houses.
The on/off switch could be located under the seat or the dash or wherever you choose. Certainly cheaper, and very effective, depending only on ones imagination.

Always a wealth of great info Jimo!
Laugh if you may, but I think it is a good idea.
Any other suggestions.
