Daimler Trucks North America revealed that they will be offering a Select Limited Warranty option to used trucks. The coverage will be available through SelecTrucks, its pre-owned retail system. DTNA has a new emphasis on customer experience, which is reflected in the release of its new website,

“Due to the ever increasing cost and complexity of Exhaust After-Treatment Systems required to meet EPA emissions standards, drivers want to feel more assured that their investment is protected. The best way to give them peace of mind is to offer the coverage they need, and we’ve done just that with our new ATS warranty.” Said Bryan Howard, director of SelecTrucks sales and distribution.

The new warrant is available on used Western Star and Freightliner trucks and will also cover After-Treatment System (ATS) on both Cummins and Detroit engines. Any Freightliner and Western Star authorized service center in Canada or the US can complete the covered repairs.

The warranty covers the following main vehicle mechanisms:

  • Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Injector

  • Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC)

  • Doser Injector

  • Temperature and Pressure Sensors

  • Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR)

  • Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)

The company explains that the DPF is a major component of the warranty, adding that system failure could “easily exceed $10,000” to replace the ATS without the warranty. The warranty protects customers and could save them more than 75% of the costs.

The company’s newly launched website focuses on customer experience, and is designed for desktop, tablet, and smartphone use. In addition, customers are now able to search and see up to date inventory. This information is refreshed day-to-day to reflect current stock and can be refined to search inventory within a certain location or at a specific dealership. The search tool is user friendly, and displays photos of each truck, paired with thorough specifications.

“The needs of our customers are the focus of the new site and we know it will make the selection process a more enjoyable experience.” Said Howard. “Providing customers with an easy user experience when researching their next truck was our highest priority during the development of this new website.”

The website, which is available for immediate customer use, is intended for users to find the right truck that is suitable to their needs, budget, and time requirements.
