Guys, I'm not sure where you can get your hands on a true study guide for the IP, but I can give you some topics to focus on. If you are transferring over from another trade, you can apply the same principals to alot of things, especially electrical circuits, alternators, starters and electric motors. The topics that are unique to the heavy duty IP are diesel engines, hydraulic systems, hydrostatic drive systems, power shift transmissions, fire supression systems, tracks and undercarriage, roll-over and fall-over protection systems and safety. Try visiting your local trade college book store to find out what kind of literature you might need. Or, you can research those topics individually on the internet. I hope this helps and good luck!
