I thought I should take a moment a say hello. I am new to the site. I think this is great for mechanics/technicians to be able to get together and share knowledge. It only makes the field stronger.

As for myself I currently on active duty in the US Air Force. I spent the first 13 years working on a variety of equipment mostly with diesel engines. I forced to change carrier fields and have been out the maintenance business for the last five. I will be eligible to retire November 2014 and I am hoping to be able to get back to turning wrenches.

Welcome to Mechanics Hub David! :)

This is definitely the place to be especially if you are in the trade. Great place to connect with other technicians around the world in the trade right here in the forum, keep up to date with the latest trade news, view/apply for jobs on the largest job board specifically for diesel machinery professionals, or kick back and relax in our fun and games section.

We look forward to reading your posts and any insights you can provide to your fellow trade professionals!

I am new to the hub. I have been wrenching for over forty years, the last thirty plus as a heavy equipment field mechanic. Most of my work in recent years has been on CAT equipment and Hydraulic Directional Drills (Vermeer and American Augers) ranging from small to monsters. Lots of work in the shale oil and gas fields in Ohio and PA. I love wrenching and look forward to every day. This is a great field to be in and I recommend it to anyone who is not afraid to work and get dirty. I also love building and racing cars and bikes.
