HI there my buddy called me from the up north and is trying to figure out why his tracks are not keeping tension on them i cant get up there to see the machine for myself so it is hard to trouble shoot.this guy also does not no much about equipment so it makes that much harder.I dont even know if its a hi track dozer or low track dozer.I think it may be a leaking track tenioner however iam not sure, need some help on this one i dont want the guy hammerd by a exspensive service call.

ps I gave him [email protected]#t for not knowing his iron or letting me look at the unit before buying it.must have been a good night on the town.

Get him to check seals in track tightning cylender and also the bleed off valve. Use a grease marker on the cylender or measure it to see if it is retracting. could be barrings in rollers idelers or drive sprockets. the undercarrage could be hooped

I've come across broken recoil springs in the cannon as well. When you go to relieve the grease pressure and things don't move that much, stand well aside when splitting the track...things are gonna move then!!!!
