I've been sent e-mails from some Ford Dealerships claiming $65 per flat rate hour.

yeah i have seen jobs in Ft. Mac where u get 50/hr, OT is double time and you get a 10k bonus after 3 months. Look in the job postings on this site they have some of the best jobs in alberta.

Sounds lucrative! I talked to a warranty adviser from Freightliner who went to a job expo in Fort Mac. He said there were hundreds of companies looking for employees. One company had a simulated loader of some sort and after going through the demo he was asked when he could start. The biggest problem would be finding worthwhile accommodation.

I've spent a lot of time in FT Mac. The money is great. Living is expensive and the place is not family friendly. Three things happen up there. Work sleep and drink. I believe the only way to make money (and keep it) is to work rotation out of a camp. And then get out on your off time. The big players up there (Finning and the like) will suck up every mechanic they can get up there. But they are increasingly wanting you to live in Ft Mac, and that's a down side in my view.

I have worked in Fort Mac as a HET for over 25 years. The money is great. Most places are paying in the 50-60 per hour range plus bonuses.Housing prices are high, but then so are the wages.Where else can you gross over 200 thou.a year with a little ot? And,contrary to the news and rumors, there is lots to do here besides drinking.
