Diesel Invasion not to Include Honda Diesels

Fuel economy is a main concern for car buyers these days and to fill the demand, car manufacturers are finally warming to diesel. However, Honda diesels aren’t likely to appear in the United States, as the company believes a business case just cannot be made as yet to do so. Are you in the market to sell or purchase a new or used SUV? If this describes you, look at the inventory at Gus Johnson Ford! Super-efficient Honda diesels not among diesel invasion There are a lot of reasons to make sure cars are more fuel efficient. First, and more importantly, it is needed by the United States government now. On top of that, consumers really like it. In the next few years, a lot of carmakers are actually making diesel vehicles for this very reason. It includes carmakers such as Ford, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Jeep, Mazda and many other car businesses. Even carmakers in Europe are making the change. Just like everybody else, Honda has been making diesel automobiles for years around the world, but nobody in the United States wants to buy them. That is why Honda will not be selling any cars in the United States still, according to AutoGuide. Absolutely are fuel efficient People remember Honda as a fuel efficient and dependable business. Honda diesels are even more fuel efficient than the gas engines. With an automatic transmission on the fuel Civic in the U.S., there is a 1.8-liter motor that gets a combined 32 mpg with 28 mpg city/39 mpg highway. Honda UK explained that the Civic with the 1.6-liter iDTEC motor gets about 65 miles per gallon. Car and Driver reviewed the Euro-spec Honda Accord in 2008 with the 2.2-liter iDTEC engine. The car only got 32 mpg overall. The same engine was also tested in a 2009 Euro-spec Honda CR-V and showed 28 mpg, though that is still higher than the 22 mpg found in a gasoline CR-V. Supposedly the motor can get 56 mpg though. Does not make sense to come to US When it comes to diesel, more engineering is needed over a gas engine. It also needs more emission regulating equipment that is sturdier because internal glowplugs are used rather than bolted-on spark plugs. It costs a lot more to make them, so it is not worth Honda making the vehicles financially. You cannot find a diesel Civic or According at the auto lenders of New Jersey or anywhere else anytime soon. Honda also recognizes that nobody buys diesels. There are more people getting them than before, but 30,000 to 50,000 sales would be needed for Honda to even consider bringing them over, according to AutoGuide. They also do not want to charge an enormous premium for diesel. Sources AutoGuide Gizmag Car and Driver
