Here is a very short video on changing the fuel filter screen on a DT MaxxForce Diesel. This is the first filter from the tank so it’s important not to forget about servicing it every 43,000 km or 25,000 miles.
We didn’t know about this filter until we attended a bus conference out of town. Luckily the service interval was long so it didn’t effect anything in the fuel system. The maintenance intervals has been extended for all the components with all the manufacturers.
We stick to major services at 15,000 km or 9,000 miles using the required motor oil with low ash specs. The maintenance is pretty tight with our fleet. Services are done every 5,000 km or 3,000 miles involving a brake check, lubrication, checking every component over thoroughly. Preventive maintenance is very routine with fleets and neglecting the buses in our case would bite us in the butt down the road.
