Job Description

We're seeking a skilled 310S Technician to join our well-rounded automotive service shop in Thunder Bay, ON. You'll work on a diverse range of vehicles including customer vehicles, trailers, commercial safety inspections, and fleet maintenance (pickups up to 3500 series). A key aspect of this role includes maintenance contracts for specialized vehicles with complex systems, including electronic equipment and power load systems. You'll be part of a small, collaborative team where you're trusted to work independently while maintaining high quality standards.

Requirements:

• Journeyman 310S certification (third or fourth year apprentices considered)
• Valid driver's license and own tools
• Ability to write safety inspections
• Well-rounded mechanical skills including:
  • Chassis, brakes, and suspension work
  • Engine diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting
  • Complex tasks (engine/transmission swaps)
  • Multi-step diagnostic and repair capabilities
• Low comeback rate and commitment to quality workmanship
• Nice-to-have: Experience with specialized fleet vehicles

Compensation & Benefits:

• Wage: $35–$45/hour Not Flat Rate (based on experience)

• Vacation: 2 weeks (negotiable)
• Other: Coverall service provided; tool/boot allowances available on an ad-hoc basis

Hours:

• Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
• Overtime paid after 44 hours/week (rarely required)
• 14,000 sq ft shop with 5 hoists (including 20,000-lb heavy-duty lifts)
• Weekly shop maintenance; full Snap-on diagnostic tools and software available
