A municipal fleet operation is hiring a Fleet Parts Specialist in Ann Arbor, MI to manage inventory, purchasing, and parts support for fleet operations. Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain an organized inventory system for fleet parts, tools, supplies, fuel, equipment, and related materials needed for daily operations.
• Order, receive, store, issue, and track stock and non-stock parts and supplies in accordance with established purchasing procedures.
• Deliver and retrieve vehicles, parts, supplies, and other materials to support timely repair and maintenance of the fleet.
• Process packing slips, invoices, reconciliations, and data entry in financial and maintenance tracking systems, including assigning invoices to the appropriate cost centers for approval.
• Assist with maintenance planning, preventive maintenance support, fuel inventory tracking, and supply room organization to help keep operations running efficiently.
• Support maintenance, installation, and repair work on equipment, systems, and components while following safety and operational procedures.

Requirements

• • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a purchasing department and/or parts inventory environment.
  • 1 year of experience working with or managing a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain a Michigan CDL Class B within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to use computer-based inventory, maintenance, and financial systems, read technical manuals, plans, and drawings, and work independently with strong organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to safely lift and move parts and materials, work around equipment and mechanical hazards, and perform physical tasks in shop and field environments.
