Fleet Parts Specialist
Job Description
A municipal fleet operation is hiring a Fleet Parts Specialist in Ann Arbor, MI to manage inventory, purchasing, and parts support for fleet operations. Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain an organized inventory system for fleet parts, tools, supplies, fuel, equipment, and related materials needed for daily operations.
- Order, receive, store, issue, and track stock and non-stock parts and supplies in accordance with established purchasing procedures.
- Deliver and retrieve vehicles, parts, supplies, and other materials to support timely repair and maintenance of the fleet.
- Process packing slips, invoices, reconciliations, and data entry in financial and maintenance tracking systems, including assigning invoices to the appropriate cost centers for approval.
- Assist with maintenance planning, preventive maintenance support, fuel inventory tracking, and supply room organization to help keep operations running efficiently.
- Support maintenance, installation, and repair work on equipment, systems, and components while following safety and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Required:

- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in a purchasing department and/or parts inventory environment.
- 1 year of experience working with or managing a computerized maintenance management system.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain a Michigan CDL Class B within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing requirements as a condition of employment.
- Ability to use computer-based inventory, maintenance, and financial systems, read technical manuals, plans, and drawings, and work independently with strong organization and communication skills.
- Ability to safely lift and move parts and materials, work around equipment and mechanical hazards, and perform physical tasks in shop and field environments.

Shifts
- Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM (following completion of training)
Compensation
- $24.62/hour starting pay
- Pay increases based on length of service, advancement in the position, and other contractual factors
