Job Description
A reputable shop is seeking experienced Automotive Diesel Mechanics for 14-day rotational work in Fort St John, BC. This position involves working on light and medium duty trucks ranging from ¾ ton to one-ton +.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in trucks and equipment.
- Perform repairs to trucks, brakes, steering and suspension components.
- Conduct inspections and ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure timely completion of all tasks.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certification: Journeyman Auto Technician with diesel engine experience.
- Heavy-Duty (HD) certification acceptable with extensive automotive experience.
- Experience: Proven experience working with diesel engines and industrial trucks.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to handle the demands of the job.
- Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Wage: $40-$55/hour+ (straight time), with overtime pay after 8 hours per day.
- Shift Schedule: 14-day rotation, 7 days a week, 11-hour days (3 hours of OT per day).

Tools and Equipment:
- Provided: All hand tools, coveralls, and PPE.
- Required: Must bring own boots.
Accommodation and Travel:
- Flights: Company-paid flights from major centers across Canada.
- Accommodation:
- One truck for every two mechanics.
- Two suites in a supplied new house, typically single occupancy.
- Fully furnished with a cleaning service every two weeks for deep cleaning.
- Mechanic is responsible for their own food.
- Expected to maintain courtesy and respect in the shared accommodation.
