Job Description

A maintenance provider in Ayer, MA is hiring a Fleet Mechanic to service a variety of light to heavy-duty vehicles. Ideal candidates bring strong diagnostic skills and hands-on experience. Apply today to join a well-supported, experienced team.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across fleet vehicles.

  • Maintain accurate service records, including parts and labor documentation.

  • Conduct repairs on gasoline and diesel engines, brakes, transmissions, suspensions, and electrical systems.

  • Utilize diagnostic tools and read schematics and repair manuals effectively.

  • Respond to emergency roadside service calls as needed.

  • Maintain a clean and organized shop environment and follow safety procedures.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and continuous improvement.

  • Stay current with industry tools, technologies, and certifications.

  • Adapt to a flexible winter schedule and assist with additional duties as assigned.

     

Requirements:

  • Required:

    • 5+ years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial trucks and trailers.

    • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability across engines, brakes, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

    • Proficient with repair tools, equipment, and basic computer use.

    • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow safety protocols.

  • Preferred:

    • Welding experience and familiarity with hazardous materials handling.

    • ASE or OEM certifications, OSHA 10, or a CDL with hazmat endorsement.

Shifts

  • Day shift, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
  • Willing to work Saturday during peak winter season

Compensation

  • $30.00 – $45.00 per hour, based on previous experience and certification training.

  • Benefits:

    • Full comprehensive benefits package available on the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment.
