Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair brake, fuel, hydraulic, ignition, and electrical systems on vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections on all fleet vehicles.
- Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Complete work orders with detailed documentation of repairs, time, and materials used.
- Conduct road tests to verify repair accuracy.
- Perform metal fabrication and welding tasks as needed.
- Prepare vehicles and equipment for auction.
- Maintain and service shop tools and equipment.
- Participate in field repairs, overtime, on-call rotation, and occasional shop cleanup.
Requirements:

Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification may be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in automotive, transit, or heavy equipment repair.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License and CDL Class A or B permit with endorsements.
- Minimum of one ASE Heavy Master Certification or equivalent (e.g., EVT).
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills across diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and use diagnostic software.
- MACS A/C certification or equivalent.
- Must provide own basic hand tools.

- Welding certification or experience with oxyacetylene/electronic welding.

Shifts
- Full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek.
- Must be available for overtime, rotating on-call shifts, and occasional evening or weekend work as needed for field repairs or emergency operations.
Compensation
- $19/hr – $20/hr (based on experience, certifications, and skill level).
