Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and air system services on class 8 tractors and trailers.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, transmissions, steering, pneumatic systems, and electrical systems, including communication and tablet interfaces.
- Maintain and service temperature control units (e.g., ThermoKing, Carrier), ensuring validated cold‑chain integrity.
- Conduct safety inspections, mount/dismount tires, and perform federal annual inspection compliance checks.
- Weld, fabricate, or repair trailer components as needed.
- Support trailer and tractor coupling/decoupling and maneuvering within the terminal.
- Enter, update, and manage work orders in the Fleet Management System; order parts and track inventory.
- Keep the workspace clean, organized, and compliant with company and regulatory safety standards.
Requirements:
- Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL strongly preferred).
- Solid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, braking systems, and electrical diagnostics.
- Ability to service ThermoKing and Carrier units or willingness to learn.
- Comfortable with tablet-based diagnostics and fleet communication tools.
- Ability to perform physical tasks: lift/push/pull 70+ pounds, climb equipment, and work in varied positions (bend, kneel, arms raised).
- Excellent reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in English.
- Ability to obtain required security clearance.
- Preferred:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic.
- 5+ years working with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
- Working knowledge of federal inspection criteria.
- Familiarity with ThermoKing and Carrier units.
- Experience using tablets and mobile fleet applications.
- Background in parts ordering or inventory control.
- CDL license.

Full-time, Day shift, Monday to Friday.

Flexible start times: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM or 10:00 AM–7:00 PM.
- Additional overtime hours available based on workload.
Compensation

$35.00–$40.00/hour, based on experience, certifications, and skill level.
