
Driver and Haul Truck/Rollback Operator
Job Description
A leading equipment company in Birmingham, AL, is hiring a Driver and Haul Truck/Rollback Operator to move forklifts and heavy machinery between branch locations. Skilled drivers committed to safety and service with a professional work ethic are encouraged to apply today!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate and safely drive haul trucks and rollbacks, securing cargo for transport.
- Follow designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Perform vehicle inspections, routine maintenance, refueling, and report mechanical issues.
- Manage loading, unloading, and securing of equipment for safe transportation.
- Communicate with customers and team members, confirming delivery details and signatures.
- Provide operational support such as warehouse duties, staging, and site preparation.
- Work outdoors in extreme temperatures, dusty, wet, or noisy environments; handle physically demanding tasks.
Requirements:

Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid CDL Class A or B license with a clean driving record.
- DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain).
- 2+ years of commercial truck driving and rollback operation experience.
- Familiarity with GPS and route planning technologies.
- Ability to perform physical tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Successful completion of criminal background check, physical exam, and drug screening.

Preferred:
- Forklift Operator Certification (training available).
- 3+ years operating haul trucks, rollbacks, or heavy equipment transport.
- Experience with hydraulic tilt beds, winches, chains, and load securement.
- Mechanical aptitude for inspecting and troubleshooting transported equipment.
- Experience operating forklifts, telehandlers, and other material handling equipment.

Shifts
- Day shift, Monday to Friday, with flexible schedules!
Compensation
- $20/hr to $25/hr (based on experience and qualifications).
