
Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Power & HVAC
Job Description
A reputable construction equipment provider in Borger, Texas, is hiring multiple Heavy Equipment Mechanics to service and repair power generators, pumps, HVAC units, and electrical systems. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair power generators, HVAC units, diesel engines, air compressors, and electrical distribution systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and troubleshooting in both shop and field settings.
- Use laptops/tablets to manage work orders, access diagnostics, and document service activities.
- Field Mechanics: Travel to customer job sites, operate a service vehicle, and provide on-site repairs and system setups.
- Interpret schematics and calculate cooling and power requirements for HVAC and generator systems.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and support training of junior technicians as needed.
- Assist with equipment and parts pickup/delivery and follow OSHA safety standards during all tasks.
Qualifications:

Required:
- 2+ years of experience servicing power generators, HVAC systems, or related specialty equipment.
- Must own professional tools required for power and HVAC service.
- Strong understanding of schematics, diagnostics, and system calculations (tonnage/kW).
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and familiarity with digital diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record; must be 21+ to operate a service vehicle.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical positions throughout the shift.

- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and procedures.
- Trade school certificate or relevant field service experience.

Shifts

Day Shift; Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Overtime available after 40 hours per week.
- Weekend on-call rotation only in special circumstances.
Compensation
-
$35/hr – $45/hr (based on experience, certifications, and technical skill level).
