A reputable construction equipment dealer in Buffalo, NY, is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work on skid steers, excavators, loaders, and more. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components on compact equipment including skid steers, excavators, and loaders.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and safety checks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Maintain detailed service records and update work orders accurately.
- Support a team environment by communicating job status, repair timelines, and any issues to supervisors and fellow technicians.
- Assist with training or mentoring junior techs as needed.
Qualifications:

Required:
- 3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Comfortable working in a supervised shop environment with a structured schedule.
- Must own a basic set of personal tools.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

- Experience with compact track loaders, mini excavators, or other compact construction equipment.
- Technical certification or vocational training in diesel or heavy equipment repair.

Day shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.

Compensation

$34 – $40/hour (based on experience and skill level).
