Diesel Technician – School Bus Fleet

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, routine service, and safety inspections on school buses, vans, and other fleet vehicles.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and related vehicle systems across a variety of units.
- Complete repair orders, record parts usage, and maintain accurate service documentation.
- Respond to road calls and perform field repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Maintain the proper hand tools required to perform assigned job functions.
- Follow direction from the shop foreman or other supervisors while supporting overall shop productivity and safety.
Requirements
- Required:

- High school diploma, trade school training, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in automotive, truck, bus, or related vehicle repair.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and complete repairs safely and effectively.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Physical ability to safely perform the essential duties of the role.
- Ability to complete repair paperwork and parts documentation accurately.
- Must own and maintain the hand tools needed for the position.

- Experience performing preventive maintenance and inspections on commercial vehicles or buses.
- Familiarity with fleet maintenance environments and road call service work.
