Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, routine service, and safety inspections on school buses, vans, and other fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and related vehicle systems across a variety of units.
• Complete repair orders, record parts usage, and maintain accurate service documentation.
• Respond to road calls and perform field repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
• Maintain the proper hand tools required to perform assigned job functions.
• Follow direction from the shop foreman or other supervisors while supporting overall shop productivity and safety.

Requirements

• Required:

• • High school diploma, trade school training, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in automotive, truck, bus, or related vehicle repair.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and complete repairs safely and effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Physical ability to safely perform the essential duties of the role.
  • Ability to complete repair paperwork and parts documentation accurately.
  • Must own and maintain the hand tools needed for the position.

• Preferred:

• • Experience performing preventive maintenance and inspections on commercial vehicles or buses.
  • Familiarity with fleet maintenance environments and road call service work.
