Job Description
A respected municipal employer is hiring a Licensed Fleet Technician in Cambridge, ON to inspect, repair, and maintain fleet vehicles and equipment. Ideal candidates hold a valid 310T or 310S and Class D/Z licence. Apply now to support essential public operations.
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on municipal fleet vehicles, equipment, and related components.
- Complete preventive maintenance inspections, servicing, and periodic mandatory commercial vehicle inspections to support regulatory compliance.
- Conduct road tests and operational tests to confirm safe operation and verify repairs are completed properly.
- Design, fabricate, and fit parts, components, and assemblies as needed.
- Work closely with other technicians, assist peers, and support the efficient completion of fleet maintenance tasks.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and ensure shop tools and equipment are organized and ready for use.
- Assist with the safe movement of vehicles and equipment using verbal and hand signals.
- Work outdoors as needed in varying weather conditions.
- Respond to after-hours call-outs on a rotational basis.
Requirements
- Required:

- Valid Truck and Coach Technician (310T) or Automotive Service Technician (310S) Certificate of Qualification.
- Valid Ontario Class D driver’s licence with Z endorsement in good standing and an acceptable driver’s abstract.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and extended hours as required.

- Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate.

Shifts

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM (40 hours per week).

Rotating day and afternoon shifts.

Availability for overtime and on-call duty.
