Licensed Fleet Mechanic (310T/310S)
Job Description
A stable municipal fleet operation is hiring a Licensed Fleet Mechanic (310T/310S) in Cambridge, ON to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and equipment. Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on a diverse fleet of municipal vehicles and equipment.
- Complete preventive maintenance inspections, servicing, and periodic mandatory commercial vehicle inspections to meet applicable CVOR requirements.
- Design, fabricate, and fit parts, components, and assemblies as needed to complete repairs.
- Conduct road and operational tests to confirm vehicles and equipment are safe and repairs are complete.
- Work closely with other technicians, assist with the safe movement of vehicles and equipment, and support daily maintenance priorities.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and support rotating shifts, extended hours, outdoor repairs, and rotational after-hours call-outs as required.
Requirements
- Required:

- Valid Truck and Coach Technician (310T) or Automotive Service Technician (310S) Certificate of Qualification from Skilled Trades Ontario
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Valid Ontario DZ driver’s licence in good standing with an acceptable driver’s abstract
- Able to meet the physical demands of the role and periodically work outdoors in inclement weather
- Able to work rotating shifts, occasional extended hours, and rotational after-hours call-outs as required

Shifts
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Rotating shifts between 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
- Overtime, on-call duty, and extended hours may be required as needed
Compensation
- $39.80 – $42.26/hour for licensed 310T or 310S technicians
- Additional $2.50/hour premium for candidates holding both 310T and 310S certifications
