Job Description

This role is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency of our school buses and service vehicles, focusing on advanced diagnostic and repair techniques. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on school buses and service vehicles, focusing on GPS tracking systems, video recording systems, and other onboard technology.
- Install, service, and repair faults on electronically controlled vehicle systems.
- Use electronic system software to monitor performance and diagnose issues.
- Conduct regular maintenance and service work on vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, completed repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards to maintain a safe work environment.
- Provide general assistance to other technicians, ensuring collaborative efforts are effective and efficient.
- Perform additional related duties as required, ensuring comprehensive vehicle care and management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with preferred post-secondary education in electrical equipment repair.
- Minimum of two years of experience in automotive or diesel mechanics, especially with school buses or similar vehicles. Familiarity with GPS, video recording systems, and other onboard technologies is advantageous.
- Valid North Carolina commercial driver’s license (CDL) required. Additional certifications related to vehicle repair and maintenance are beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Apps. Must own basic tools necessary for vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with effective communication skills, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Able to perform heavy physical work, handle exposure to hazardous materials, and operate automotive equipment. Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.

Compensation
- $22.30 – $27.80/hour based on experience and certifications
