
Field Service Forklift Mechanic
Job Description
A growing equipment service team in Charlotte, NC, is hiring an experienced Field Service Technician to diagnose and repair forklifts and industrial machinery. This independent, field-based role includes a fully equipped take-home service truck and 100% paid travel time. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair forklifts and other heavy equipment at customer sites.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure peak equipment performance.
- Manage and maintain service truck inventory to support efficient daily operations.
- Communicate clearly with customers, providing expert solutions tailored to their needs.
- Adhere to safety standards and continuously improve through OEM and in-house training.
- Support knowledge-sharing across the team and assist in onboarding junior techs.
Requirements:
- Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with lift trucks, forklifts, or material handling equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills for diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check, DOT physical, and drug screening.
- Own a full set of tools suitable for field service work.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Preferred:
- ASE Certifications in brakes, electrical, diesel, or preventative maintenance.
- Forklift operator certification.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.

- Day shift, Monday to Friday, with flexible schedules!

Compensation
- $25 – $35/hr + Potential Sign-on Bonus based on experience and qualifications.
