Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on customer equipment and vehicles.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and post-repair testing to ensure reliability and safety.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, read schematics, and document findings, labor, and parts accurately.
• Travel to client locations throughout Wyoming and surrounding states; respond to urgent/emergency service calls as needed.
• Operate and care for a company service truck; manage on-truck parts and tool inventory.
• Communicate job status, recommendations, and ETAs with dispatch, supervisors, and customers.
• Comply with all safety policies, site rules, and applicable regulations during field work.

Requirements:

• Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years’ experience in heavy equipment or diesel repair (shop or field).
  • Proficiency with hydraulics, electrical systems, mechanical repairs, and modern diagnostics.
  • Ability to read schematics/technical manuals and use scan tools, meters, and gauges.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel across Wyoming and nearby states with periodic overnight stays; comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and customer communication skills.
  • Safety-focused; able to stand/stoop/bend and lift up to 50 lbs; able to pass background check and 10-panel drug screen.
  • Must supply basic hand tools; company provides all specialty and larger equipment.

• Preferred:

  • CDL.
  • Vocational/technical training or certifications (e.g., diesel, brakes, electrical).
  • Prior field service experience working independently and managing a service truck.
  • Experience in energy, rail, or utility environments; basic welding or hydraulic hose fabrication a plus.
