
Heavy Truck Mechanic

This role is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing company-owned Class 8 trucks and equipment in both shop and field environments while maintaining high productivity and quality standards. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical issues on Class 8 trucks, light, and heavy equipment.
- Repair or replace diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air conditioning systems, electrical systems, air brake systems, and drive train components.
- Ensure maximum parts reuse to control repair costs and maintain efficiency.
- Perform mechanical repairs in the most effective and cost-efficient manner to meet company goals.
- Communicate progress and estimated completion times with the Shop Manager.
- Complete necessary paperwork related to repairs and service.
- Work overtime as needed based on workload and company needs.
Requirements:
- Must supply own tools.
- 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing Class 8 trucks and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
- Ability to contribute to a professional and respectful workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the refuse (trash) industry.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Class B CDL license preferred.
- Experience with diagnostic programs such as Tech Tool, Cummins Insite, and JPRO.

Shifts
- Monday through Friday, some Saturdays are required.
- Potential overtime available!
Compensation
- $25.00 – $36.00/ hour, based on previous experience/certifications
- $3,000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants
- $1,500 after 6 months of good employment standing
- $1,500 after 1 year
- A Full Comprehensive Benefits package is available after 60 days (Health, Vision, Dental, 401k, and more).
- PTO available after 90 days
