Duties & Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical issues on Class 8 trucks, light, and heavy equipment.
• Repair or replace diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air conditioning systems, electrical systems, air brake systems, and drive train components.
• Ensure maximum parts reuse to control repair costs and maintain efficiency.
• Perform mechanical repairs in the most effective and cost-efficient manner to meet company goals.
• Communicate progress and estimated completion times with the Shop Manager.
• Complete necessary paperwork related to repairs and service.
• Work overtime as needed based on workload and company needs.

Requirements:

• Must supply own tools.
• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing Class 8 trucks and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
• Ability to contribute to a professional and respectful workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the refuse (trash) industry.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Class B CDL license preferred.
• Experience with diagnostic programs such as Tech Tool, Cummins Insite, and JPRO.
