
Fleet Mechanic I

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on gas and diesel vehicles, including tire replacement, lubrication, and minor electrical/cooling system repairs.
- Maintain trailers and warehouse equipment, such as walkie riders, forklifts, pallet jacks, and powered hand carts.
- Adhere to OSHA, FMCSA, and federal/state/local safety regulations while using required personal protective equipment.
- Communicate repair statuses with co-workers and supervisors.
- Transport equipment to external repair shops as needed.
- Order and manage parts inventory.
- Maintain fleet garage cleanliness and organization.
- Complete federal annual inspections, maintenance records, and repair reports.
- Work assigned schedules with reliable attendance and overtime as needed.
- Other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Preferred: Vocational/Technical or Associate Degree in diesel mechanics.
- Experience: 1+ year working with medium to heavy-duty trucks.
- Valid driver’s license; must be insurable for vehicle operation.
- Basic understanding of diagnostic software.
- Ability to work around fumes, airborne particles, toxic materials, moving equipment, and loud noise environments.

Shifts
- 4:00 am – 2:30 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (Off Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday).
- 4 – 10.5 hour shifts with 30 min lunch break
- Overtime paid after 40 hours/week
Compensation
- $28.50-$34.00 per hour based on experience level
