Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative services on school buses and other fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension.
• Complete safety inspections and support compliance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) standards.
• Document work completed, parts used, and inspection results accurately and consistently.
• Respond to road calls and emergency breakdowns, completing on-site repairs when required.
• Coordinate with operations to keep vehicles safe, available, and ready for service.
• Follow shop safety procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and internal maintenance standards.

Requirements

• Required:

  • Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician or 310S Automotive Service Technician license.
  • Hands-on experience performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs as a licensed mechanic/technician.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with MTO inspection requirements and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and collaborate with a team in a busy fleet environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and clear communication.

• Preferred:

  • Experience working on school buses, transit fleets, or commercial fleet vehicles.
  • Experience servicing accessibility equipment or related systems on accessible vehicles.
