Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead multi-site fleet maintenance operations across an assigned region to ensure safe, roadworthy vehicles and service-level compliance.
- Own regional maintenance strategy by reviewing performance, identifying gaps, and driving continuous improvement for safety, uptime, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, DOT, contractual, and internal policy requirements.
- Coordinate with operations and cross-functional teams to prioritize work and maximize equipment availability as demands fluctuate.
- Ensure locations have the tools, equipment, and resources required to perform repairs efficiently and correctly.
- Drive asset availability, make sound repair/replace decisions, and maximize fleet uptime.
- Establish, track, and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned to financial and operational objectives.
- Professionally develop Maintenance Supervisors/Lead Technicians through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and performance management.
- Set performance goals for teams and individuals; create and execute action plans to meet or exceed targets.
- Support hiring by screening/interviewing candidates and partnering with recruiters; represent the organization at tech schools and career fairs.
- Promote a culture aligned with safeguarding expectations and zero-tolerance conduct standards.
Requirements

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7+ years of people management experience, including coaching and developing teams.
- 7+ years of fleet maintenance leadership/supervision in a diesel shop environment (heavy/medium-duty fleets).
- Working knowledge of DOT compliance applicable to medium/heavy trucks.
- Demonstrated ability to build and execute maintenance strategies across multiple sites.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong time management and organization.
- Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to travel; role includes significant field presence (approximately 75%).

Preferred:
- Lean/Six Sigma experience.
- ASE Master certification (Automotive and/or Truck).
- 5+ years of hands-on auto/truck/bus mechanical repair experience.

$150,000 – $180,000 annual salary.
