Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair trailer systems, including air brakes, suspension, wiring, and lighting
• Conduct CVIP inspections to ensure trailer compliance and road safety
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements
• Complete structural repairs and light welding on frames, brackets, and undercarriage components
• Use technical manuals and wiring diagrams to guide diagnostics and repair
• Maintain detailed service records and complete required inspection documentation
• Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area

Requirements:

• Required:
  • 3+ years of experience as a trailer technician or in a similar heavy-duty repair role
  • Valid CVIP licence to inspect commercial trailers
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting air brake systems, electrical systems, and general trailer components
  • Own a basic set of hand tools
  • Some experience with welding and fabrication
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite
  • Ability to read schematics and technical documentation
• Preferred:
  • Additional certifications related to heavy-duty repair or welding
  • Experience working in a high-volume repair shop or dealership setting
  • Familiarity with trailer telematics or electronic braking systems
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to daily tasks
