A leading provider of innovative energy transportation solutions, committed to safety, reliability, and operational excellence is hiring a Level A Diesel Mechanic for their Charlton, MA location. They operate a high-performance fleet supporting mission-critical operations throughout the region.
They are seeking an experienced Level A Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This role is ideal for a top-tier technician with advanced diagnostic abilities, strong mechanical expertise, and interest in growing into a Lead Mechanic or Supervisory role as the company continues to expand in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on Class 8 trucks and specialized fleet equipment.
- Overhaul and repair engines, aftertreatment systems, electrical systems, air systems, cooling systems, and driveline components.
- Complete preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and comprehensive safety checks.
- Utilize OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software for accurate and efficient problem-solving.
- Lead complex repairs, including engine, transmission, turbo, emission system, and hydraulic repairs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repair orders, parts usage, and time tracking.
- Mentor junior technicians, supporting technical growth and shop performance.
- Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to recommend improvements in processes, maintenance scheduling, and fleet reliability.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company and regulatory safety standards.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of diesel mechanic experience with mastery of advanced diagnostics and major repairs.
- Strong understanding of modern emissions systems (DPF, DOC, SCR, DEF).
- Experience working with Cummins, Detroit, PACCAR, or similar on-highway engines.
- Proficient with diagnostic software (Cummins Insite, Bendix, Eaton, Snap-On, etc.).
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical schematics.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Must have your own tools (company may supply specialty or OEM tools).
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead or mentor others.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs, stand, bend, and work in varying shop conditions.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $40.00 - $55.00/hour (DOE).
