Job Description
We are seeking a Diesel Fleet Supervisor in Palmer, Alaska, to oversee an established fleet's maintenance and repair operations. This role is ideal for an experienced supervisor with a strong background in diesel mechanics and fleet management. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs on various vehicle systems, ensuring all activities comply with Federal, State/Provincial, and local guidelines.
- Implement and oversee maintenance and safety standard operating procedures, ensuring the local maintenance team's compliance.
- Manage the use of the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) ERP application for recording maintenance work orders and tracking parts inventory.
- Oversee the parts inventory, ensuring efficient usage and stocking within the maintenance facility.
- Lead preventive maintenance and unscheduled repair efforts, actively participating when necessary.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between the maintenance team and other operational functions such as driver care, route operations, and customer care.
- Supervise the maintenance staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality service.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall functionality of the maintenance facility.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a diesel shop environment, handling Heavy/Med duty fleets with at least five years of mechanical repair experience in auto/truck or bus maintenance.
- Knowledge and experience in complying with local DOT regulations for Med/Heavy Trucks.
- ASE Certification as a Master Automotive Technician and/or Master Truck Technician is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer usage, especially with computerized diagnostics tools.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to use good judgment in maintenance planning and execution.
- Experience in planning and scheduling maintenance repairs (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Supervisory experience in parts inventory management, purchasing, and budget management.
- Flexibility in work schedules to meet the dynamic needs of the maintenance operations.

- $96K Salary based on experience.
