Job Description
A respected and growing fleet operation based near Fulda, MN is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This role focuses on engine rebuilds, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet of Heavy Duty Trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform in-frame and out-of-frame engine rebuilds, advanced diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Identify worn or damaged components and complete quality repairs.
- Maintain detailed repair records and ensure all work meets safety and compliance standards.
- (Preferred) Conduct DOT inspections in Minnesota and operate CDL vehicles as needed.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of recent hands-on diesel mechanic experience with a strong focus on engine rebuilds.
- Solid background with Peterbilt trucks and Cat/Cummins engines.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently in a small fleet shop.
- CDL and MN DOT Inspector certification are strong assets and will positively impact pay.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $35 – $45/hour starting pay, based on experience, certifications, and training.
- Employer-paid premium contributions for medical, dental, and vision (details discussed at interview).
- 401(k) plan with a 3% employer match.
- Overtime available after 40 hours/week.
Shift Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, day shift (start between 7:00–8:00AM).
- 8-hour workdays with flexible, unpaid lunch break.
