Job Description

An established and reputable employer is looking to add a Diesel or Automotive Mechanic willing to learn repairs on Diesel Vehicles for their operation in Lake Isabella, California. This opportunity will have technicians working on a small fleet of Waste trucks and equipment.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Automotive Mechanic with experience diagnosing and repairing Heavy Trucks
• Diagnosing with the aid of Software and digital Tools
• Repairing and replacing faulty vehicle parts with occassionally repairing on roadside
• Carrying out Scheduled Service and maintenance & updating vehicle records
• Maintaining a database of spare parts for the shop
• Keeping shop organized and clean
• prior experience with Fleetio (fleet management software) not required but preferred
• Working Overtime/weekends when warranted

 
Compensation:

• $30 - $35/hour to start 
• 7 Paid Holidays (New year's, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas) 
• 40 hours vacation accrued each year (accrual begins after 90 day probabtion period)
• 40 hours Sick Leave after 90 days and deposited Jan 1st each year
• Group Health/Dental Vision - Employee pays 15% of employee premium and 70% of familiy premium (bi-weekly deduction)
• Profit Sharing - Employer Funded
• Up to 5 days Bereavement for immediate family members.
• All tools provided - Mechanic not required any personal tools and preferred by employer to not have at shop.  
• Uniforms, Steel toed boots, and all PPE gear provided by employer

Shifts:

• Day Shift, Monday - Friday
• Drug & Alcohol Test - a drug and alcohol free workplace (This includes cannabis)
• Physical Exam and Functional Capacity testing are part of the pre-employment process.
• Company operates regular schedule on Memorial & Labor Day
• May be required to work or be on call for July 4th
