Diesel Mechanic
Job Description
Our client, an industry leader in agricultural processing, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join their team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be part of the maintenance department supporting the production and operational teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Location: Severn, NC
Pay Range: $24/hr- $26/hr
Shift: 1st Shift – Monday to Friday (6am to 230pm) – (Overtime on Saturday’s)
What’s the Job?
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in diesel engines and related equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and company schedules
- Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust components
- Maintain forklifts, yard trucks, trailers, generators, and other diesel-powered plant equipment
- Weld parts in flat, vertical, and overhead positions and perform general repairs on doors, flooring, and landing gears
What’s Needed?
- High school diploma or GED required
- Diesel mechanic certification
- Minimum of 5 years of diesel mechanic experience, preferably in a truck shop repair environment
- Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and heavy equipment
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information
