Job Description

We're hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join a growing service team supporting a modern fleet of heavy trucks and equipment throughout Saskatchewan. This is a mobile field service position offering variety, independence, and excellent earning potential with the support of a well-equipped service truck and an experienced team behind you.

What You'll Do

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
  • Respond to breakdowns and scheduled field service calls throughout Saskatchewan.
  • Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, air brake, and mechanical systems.
  • Complete service documentation and communicate effectively with customers and the service team.
  • Work primarily in the field, with opportunities for shop work during the winter months.

What We're Looking For

  • Heavy truck and/or heavy equipment repair experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
  • Stable work history and a willingness to work independently.

Assets

  • Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or Truck & Transport certification.
  • Apprentice candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with Cummins, Caterpillar, John Deere, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Western Star, or similar equipment.
  • Diagnostic software experience.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $27.00–$55.00/hour, based on experience and certification.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours (10–20 hours per week is common).
  • $100/night tax-free overnight travel allowance.
  • Company-provided, fully equipped service truck, diagnostic equipment, and tools.
  • Company-paid accommodations when overnight travel is required.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday.
  • Primarily daytime hours with overtime available.

  • Occasional on-call rotation with advance notice whenever possible.
  • Approximately 80% field service with travel between multiple Saskatchewan locations.
