A reputable and well-established employer is urgently seeking Diesel Truck Mechanics in Merrillville, IN!

Diesel Mechanics will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs to class 8 diesel trucks and trailers.

Mechanics with ASEs and/or OEM certifications will be given preference!

Requirements:

The ideal Diesel Truck Mechanic will have 2+ years of recent technical repair experience in the following: 

• Mechanical Expertise: Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining class 8 trucks and trailers, including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.

• Diagnostics: Utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently. Experience with computerized diagnostic systems preferred.

• Preventive Maintenance: Performing routine preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of fleet vehicles.

• Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team of mechanics and other staff members to prioritize tasks and efficiently complete repairs. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude are essential for effective teamwork.

Offering:

• Up to $38.00/hour. Starting wage is based upon previous experience.

Shift Schedule:

• Day Shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00PM, Monday - Friday.
