Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and scheduled repairs on an in-house fleet of heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, cooling, fuel, and aftertreatment/emissions systems.
• Troubleshoot and service electrical and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and schematics.
• Inspect, repair, and replace brakes, steering, suspension, driveline, and chassis components.
• Remove, repair, and replace transmissions, clutches, and related assemblies as needed.
• Complete maintenance records, work orders, and documentation accurately.
• Road test vehicles after repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused shop environment.

Requirements

• Required:

  • 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience working on heavy-duty trucks, fleet vehicles, buses, or related equipment.
  • Working knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance practices.
  • Ability to diagnose issues, complete repairs efficiently, and keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Must supply standard hand tools.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and established shop procedures.

• Preferred:

  • Experience working on Class 7–8 trucks.
  • Familiarity with hydraulics, aftertreatment/emissions systems, and electronic diagnostics.
  • ASE certifications, manufacturer training, or DOT inspection experience.
