Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and DOT-compliant inspections on trailers and related components
• Repair or replace roll doors, swing doors, trailer roofs, panels, lift gates, wheel seals, and flooring
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues across dry vans, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers
• Conduct welding and fabrication on trailer structures and metal components
• Troubleshoot and repair ABS brake systems, trailer wiring, and lighting circuits
• Adjust brakes, align axles, and inspect suspension systems for damage or wear
• Maintain detailed service records, parts usage logs, and inspection reports
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safety-compliant shop environment

Requirements:

• Required:
  • 3+ years of experience repairing and maintaining trailers, including dry vans, flatbeds, and refrigerated units
  • Proficiency in welding, trailer bodywork, electrical repairs, and ABS diagnostics
  • Hands-on experience with preventative maintenance and replacement of roll doors, swing doors, trailer roofs, panels, lift gates, wheel seals, and flooring
  • Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA regulations related to trailer inspections and safety
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or in a team setting
• Preferred:
  • Experience performing trailer alignments and repairing lift gates
  • Background in commercial fleet, logistics, or moving industry operations
  • Ability to assist or mentor junior mechanics with trailer repairs and shop procedures
