Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect, service, maintain, and repair waste disposal highway trucks, passenger vehicles, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and repair engines, emissions systems, drivetrain, brakes, electrical systems, steering, suspension, HVAC, hydraulics, and air systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and support the scheduled maintenance program to keep fleet units safe and reliable.
- Use maintenance software to complete accurate work orders, track repairs, and support parts inventory.
- Help improve shop setup, workflow, and daily repair efficiency for fleet service operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area while following safety practices and caring for company-provided tools and equipment.
Requirements
- Required:

- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
- Minimum 3 years of mechanic experience maintaining and repairing heavy trucks, equipment, or fleet vehicles.
- Hands-on diagnostic and repair experience with engines, emissions, drivetrain, brake, electrical, steering, suspension, HVAC, hydraulic, and air systems.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Ability to learn computer-based maintenance software and complete accurate service documentation.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in a shop-based fleet maintenance environment.
- Must complete a pre-employment criminal background check.

- Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems.
- Class 1 or Class 3 license with air brake endorsement and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Microsoft software proficiency.

Shifts
- Day shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday
- Includes a 30-minute unpaid break
- Overtime available for hours worked beyond 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week
- Occasional Saturdays may be required
Compensation
- $47.00 – $50.00/hour based on experience and qualifications
- $1,500 annual tool allowance
