We are seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic in Eugene, OR to support and work with a growing team. Responsibilities:

• Assist and train technicians as needed, ensuring quality repairs and high team performance.
• Provide exceptional customer service and address daily customer inquiries.
• Monitor team performance and provide feedback to the Service Manager for employee appraisals or disciplinary actions.
• Oversee parts distribution and inventory management to maintain efficient operations.
• Manage shop reporting, warranty recovery, unit tracking, and payroll administration.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs, including major engine repairs, diesel aftertreatment, and fuel injection repairs.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance, such as oil changes, brake repairs, and tire work.
• Utilize maintenance software to create reports and communicate with customers, vendors, and company representatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational guidelines.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of relevant experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
• Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostics, electrical systems, AC, and advanced mechanical repairs.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Vocational or Technical Certification is a plus.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Experience using computer systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and maintenance software.
• Ability to supervise and train team members effectively.
• Valid Driver’s License required; CDL Class A preferred (must obtain CDL within six months of hire).
• Must meet minimum tool requirements and have hands-on experience with diagnostic equipment.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations for roadside assistance.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check, including drug and alcohol verification from the last three years.

Additional Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 months supervisory or training experience preferred.
• Thorough understanding of unit utilization procedures, warranty recovery, and payroll systems.
• Internal candidates must have a minimum of 6 months in their current position and a record of good performance, attendance, safety, and teamwork.
