Diesel Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Level Diesel Technician in Eugene, OR, to support a high-performing truck fleet. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work independently on complex repairs, mentor junior technicians, and advance your career in a professional environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform vehicle maintenance, including preventive maintenance and standard repairs.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic computers and software.
- Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
- Replace defective components and perform facility maintenance as needed.
- Work independently on most tasks and support facility operations, including Service Island duties.
- Interact with customers and drivers to identify and resolve vehicle concerns.
- Utilize the Shop Management System and electronic documentation tools.
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents effectively.
- Act as a mentor for junior technicians (Tech 1 and Tech 2), providing guidance on diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Complete SBTIII training within 180 days and two OEM diagnostic scan tool courses within 365 days.
- Work in compliance with federal, state, and corporate safety guidelines, including DOT and MOT regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Vocational or Technical Certification is a plus.
- Must own basic tools for the role.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment preferred.
- Experience with routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, brake, and tire work.
- Proficiency in basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of computer systems (PC, Windows, etc.) and the ability to use diagnostic tools.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A preferred; must obtain CDL within six months of hire.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check, including drug and alcohol verification from the last three years.
Additional Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach other technicians.
- Proficiency with shop computers and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Must be available for shift work, weekends, and on-call duties as required.

- Day Shift, Tuesday to Saturday, Hours: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Overtime potential available!

Compensation
- $30/hr to $31+/hr based on experience, certifications and shift
- Quarterly Bonus!
- Annual Merit Pay Increases Every Year
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
- Annual Tool Allowance: $425
