Job Description
A well-established company is seeking an HVAC Technician with Ammonia Experience to join their team in Bartlett, IL. Technicians will be responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting ammonia refrigeration systems, ensuring safety compliance, and performing routine inspections and repairs.
Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on experience with ammonia refrigeration systems in the food industry

Preference for candidates with refrigeration certifications Operator 1 is required, operator 2 and RITA certifications would be preferred.

Strong knowledge of ammonia safety regulations and ability to read piping diagrams

Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing faults, and performing chemical tests (e.g., using calipers, micrometers)

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals

Strong team player with a positive attitude and commitment to health and safety regulations
-
Experience with boiler treatment programs is an asset
Responsibilities:

Conduct routine maintenance, safety checks, repairs, and upgrades on ammonia refrigeration systems

Troubleshoot and diagnose system faults

Coordinate contractors and oversee boiler treatment, inspections and installations
-
Prepare parts lists, purchase requisitions, and accurate reports
-
Maintain records, complete work orders, and perform preventive maintenance
Compensation:
-
$40 - $46/hr based on experience

Shifts:

Full-time, 3rd Shift Monday to Friday 10pm - 6am

PM OT is required. Paid at time and a half on Saturdays, Double time on Sundays
