Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead daily maintenance operations for a medium- and heavy-duty school transportation fleet.
- Supervise maintenance staff, assign repair priorities, and support hands-on repairs when needed.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel vehicles, including steering, brakes, electrical, cooling, suspension, drivetrain, transmission, and engine systems.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, unscheduled repairs, inspections, and repair quality to support safe and reliable fleet operations.
- Use fleet maintenance software to manage work orders, parts inventory, repair records, and maintenance tracking.
- Coordinate shop activity with local operations teams, including driver care, route operations, and customer support.
Requirements
- Required:

- 5+ years of fleet supervisor experience in a diesel shop supporting medium- or heavy-duty vehicles.
- 5+ years of hands-on auto, truck, or bus mechanical repair experience.
- Experience leading fleet maintenance repair environments, including planning, scheduling, and prioritizing daily, weekly, and monthly repairs.
- Working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements for medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
- Strong computerized diagnostics experience and ability to use fleet maintenance systems, computers, and repair tracking tools.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, purchasing, inventory, and budget management skills.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule when needed.

Compensation
- $70,000 – $75,000/year (depending on experience).
