A respected municipal public works organization is hiring a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor in Fort Erie, ON to lead fleet maintenance, procurement, and stores operations. Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead fleet maintenance, repair, preventative maintenance, procurement, and parts/supplies inventory services for municipal operations.
- Supervise mechanics, apprentices, administrative staff, contractors, and other section staff as required.
- Promote safe work practices through training, inspections, job safety assessments, and equipment oversight.
- Manage the municipal fleet, including passenger vehicles, trucks, trailers, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, attachments, and accessories.
- Schedule and track repairs, service requests, work orders, invoices, maintenance records, warranties, recalls, inspections, and fleet documentation.
- Use fleet, fuel, inventory, work order, and maintenance management systems to monitor workflow, records, and operational performance.
- Support budgets, purchasing, vehicle and equipment specifications, replacement planning, fleet cost tracking, reports, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, contractors, and service partners regarding service needs, scheduling, recalls, repairs, and fleet issues.
Requirements
- Required:

- OSSD or equivalent plus post-secondary education in Business Administration, Fleet Management, Operations Management, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of related supervisory experience.
- 5+ years of relevant mechanical experience with fleet administrative procedures and automated Fleet Management Systems.
- 2+ years of experience with equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance, automotive/truck equipment, computerized fleet systems, and fuel management systems.
- Valid 310S Automotive Service Technician and 310T Truck and Coach Technician trade certificates.
- Ozone Depletion Prevention, Drive Clean, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, procurement, work order systems, diagnostics, fleet regulations, and municipal customer service.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, reporting, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
