Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, transmissions, electrical, fuel, and emissions systems using manufacturer software (Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit, International, Isuzu, Hino, etc.).
• Perform pinpoint testing of various mechanical and electrical issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Complete major and minor repairs efficiently, ensuring quality workmanship.
• Oversee and assist junior mechanics by delegating tasks and providing hands-on training.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, inspections, and ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
• Utilize manufacturer and third-party diagnostic tools to scan and analyze vehicle performance.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation of repairs performed.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety regulations and company procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding repair progress and findings.
• Keep work areas clean and organized while following proper tool and equipment protocols.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, specializing in medium and heavy-duty truck repair.
• Proficiency in manufacturer diagnostic software (Cummins Insite, Caterpillar ET, Detroit DDDL, International Navistar, Isuzu IDSS, Hino DX, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of electrical, fuel, and emissions systems troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience with pinpoint testing for mechanical and electrical failures.
• Ability to efficiently diagnose, repair, and delegate tasks to junior mechanics.
• Must own a full set of tools applicable to diesel truck repair.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
• ASE certifications are a plus.
