Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead daily shop workflow, scheduling, work assignments, and technician coverage.
- Supervise technicians and maintain standards for safety, quality, professionalism, and customer service.
- Diagnose, repair, and oversee inspections on heavy equipment, fleet, and service vehicles.
- Use wiring and hydraulic diagrams, diagnostic tools, iPad tools, and email to manage repairs, documentation, and communication.
- Meet with customers, resolve concerns, identify service needs, and enforce safety, compliance, and spill-prevention procedures.
- Represent company values and support the team with a high level of independence and accountability.
Requirements
- Required:
-
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of mechanic experience in heavy equipment, diesel, or fleet maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Class A or B CDL required.
- Strong hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical repair skills; able to read wiring and hydraulic diagrams and use diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with Hyrail equipment and ANSI, FRA, DOT, OSHA, and EPA requirements.
- Able to support scheduling and dispatching, manage email, and use iPad tools and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and ability to work independently.
- Must pass an eRailSafe background check and pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Must provide basic hand tools and be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to learn to operate forklifts, telehandlers, hydraulic lifts, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.
- Preferred:

- Formal technician or mechanic training.
- Heavy equipment or long-haul truck training.
- Experience leading or managing technician teams.

Shifts
- Day shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Overtime available after 40 hours per week
Compensation
- $30.00 – $36.00/hr based on experience
