Job Description

A highly regarded and reputable dealership is actively seeking an experienced Field Service Compression Engine Technician for a remote, traveling position covering the South Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles & West Texas areas. This role provides specialized maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and major repair services for high-horsepower Caterpillar (CAT) compression engines directly at various customer field locations, gathering hubs, and industrial stations throughout the region. This role involves conducting mechanical overhauls, electrical diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty engine packages.

Qualifications:

• 8–10 years of natural gas compression engine repair experience.
• Prior Caterpillar dealership or factory experience working specifically on CAT 3400, 3500, and 3600 series engines.
• Expert proficiency with CAT Electronic Technician (ET) and Service Information System (SIS) is required.
• Strong understanding and repair experience with engine management systems, ignition systems, and air-fuel ratio controls.
• Own tools and valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• CDL preferred or required within six months of employment.
• Personal hand tools (up to 3/4-inch drive sockets and wrenches).
• Physical capability to work in varied industrial and outdoor environments across changing weather conditions.
• Those with CAT professional level certifications or specialized gas compression training will be given preference.

Compensation:

• $45.00 - $58.00/hour to start, based on previous experience, factory certifications, and engine training.
• All travel time is fully paid.

Shift Schedule:

• Monday – Friday 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
• Overtime is available and frequently offered.
• Must be willing to accommodate additional hours, emergency call-outs, and frequent overnight travel across the service territory.
