A well-equipped automotive fleet shop is hiring an Automotive Technician in Geismar, LA to maintain GM light-duty vehicles. Ideal candidates have auto or light truck repair experience and want to grow into diagnostics. Apply today for day-shift work, weekly pay, and room to grow.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on GM light-duty fleet vehicles, including Chevrolet and GMC 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickups.
• Complete oil changes, inspections, preventive maintenance, fluid service, filters, brakes, suspension, steering, and general repairs.
• Assist with engine, drivability, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting using scan tools and testing procedures.
• Support engine and transmission removal, replacement, and larger repair work under guidance from experienced technicians.
• Test drive vehicles to help verify concerns and confirm completed repairs.
• Document completed work, keep the work area organized, and follow safe shop practices.

Requirements

• Required:

• • 1+ years of mechanic experience in automotive, light truck, pickup truck, fleet, or similar repair work.
  • Hands-on experience completing maintenance, inspections, and basic mechanical repairs independently.
  • Familiarity with gasoline engines, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems, and general vehicle repairs.
  • Ability to learn diagnostic work, engine repairs, transmission repairs, and full vehicle system troubleshooting.
  • Must provide own tools appropriate for the role and be comfortable using standard shop equipment and scan tools.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, safe work habits, and ability to complete site orientation and required pre-employment screening.

• Preferred:

• • GM 1500, 2500, or 3500 pickup repair experience.
  • GM 5.3L gas engine familiarity, basic electrical diagnostics, or engine/transmission R&R exposure.
  • ASE Certifications are helpful but not required.
