Job Description
A respected North American company is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Sanford, ME. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the readiness of a large fleet of heavy-duty trucks and utility vehicles. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional with deep mechanical knowledge, diagnostic expertise, and a strong commitment to safety and reliability.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs on a fleet of heavy diesel vehicles (bucket trucks, diggers, etc.)
- Conduct inspections in compliance with DOT and company safety standards
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Support fleet readiness to ensure rapid deployment for emergency restoration efforts
- Respond to field emergencies as needed
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- ASE Master Technician (T1–T8) or equivalent high-level trade qualification
- 10+ years of experience in heavy truck/diesel maintenance and hydraulic systems
- Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement
- DOT inspection certification and strong knowledge of FMCSA standards
- EPA Section 608 certification (HVAC/refrigerant handling)
- Proven experience in fleet or utility emergency response environments
- Valid passport and clean criminal record
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing tasks in confined or outdoor settings

Compensation:
- $35.00 - $42.00/hour

Shift Schedule:
- Day Shift, 7:00AM – 3:30PM, Monday to Friday. OT is available after 40 hours/week.
- Plenty of OT is available!
- Emergency call outs are paid at Double Time!
