
Field Service Diesel Mechanic

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel, electric, and gasoline engines on industrial trucks and construction equipment, including bulldozers, graders, loaders, forklifts, and conveyors.
- Read job orders, inspect machinery, and perform test runs to identify issues and confirm repairs.
- Disassemble and reassemble engines, transmissions, and other mechanical components.
- Order replacement parts, maintain service records, and document completed repairs.
- Install batteries, ignition systems, transmissions, and align vehicle components as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, vehicles, and job sites.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Travel to job sites, communicate with operators, and complete assignments based on written or verbal instructions.
Requirements:

Required:
- 5+ years of experience servicing diesel-powered industrial trucks and construction equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to different job sites.
- Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred:
- Experience with hydraulic systems and component diagnostics.
- Class A CDL license.
- Technical school training or certification in diesel mechanics.
- Proficiency in reading service manuals and completing written repair documentation.

Shifts
- Day shift schedule with long hours and frequent overtime.
- Rotating on/off schedule available to accommodate home time needs.
- Travel required to various job sites as part of regular duties.
Compensation
- $30/hr – $50/hr (based on experience, certifications, and training).
- $40 daily per diem for travel days.
